Northern NSW Regional Morning Report: 7.15 am Monday, 7th March: A clean southerly groundswell is wrapping in at a solid looking chest to head-high plus along the open beaches this morning, while wrapping in to Byron Bay a notch or two smaller. Light NNW winds around 5-15 knots aren't doing it too many favours, rendering the swell to mush inside Byron while opening up reasonably clean, wobbly conditions along the open beaches for now, so well worth making hay while the sun shines.
Rest of the Day Outlook: Powerful south-groundswell gradually backs off as northerly winds freshen throughout the day, pretty well limiting options to sheltered northern corners holding the swell, while making a complete mess of things along the bays and open stretches. The tide is on its way out to a 12.25 pm low and will run back in to a 6.00 pm high. Have a great Monday.
